Case Studies

Acquisition Finance for a $10m Private Jet

An overseas high net worth individual was looking to upgrade his Private Jet to a larger more expensive Bombardier Challenger for $10m once famously owned by the FI World Champion Lewis Hamilton. The prospective owner had a strong business model in the Oil & Gas industry though cash flows were held up during the exploration phase in his business. We were able to make the case to an offshore Private bank with an Aviation lending arm to look through to the business case and secure preferential terms.

Equity Release on a €50m Superyacht

A wealthy European Industrialist had invested substantial sums in the refurbishment and overhaul of this superyacht which he now wanted to recoup by refinancing the yacht. The client had already had a competitive termsheet from a European Investment bank but through a combination of a lien on the Yacht charter Income, and analysis of the client’s net worth and credit worthiness through other illiquid assets such as property and art we were able to ensure better terms on rates and loan to value from an American Institutional Lender.

£50m Capital Investment for Bridge Financing Company

A fast growing bridge lending company which had already written almost £100m in bridging loans having analysed £3bn in loan applications was looking for an anchor investor in their next stage of growth.  They had an enviable track record delivering a blended 7% to investors without ever suffering a loss of principal but funding sources were predominantly HNW individuals. Seeking a more formalised Institutional lender and a lower cost of capital we were delighted to introduce them to the Structured Finance Group of a major investment bank who were able to offer terms at 5%. This required an understanding of institutional credit, navigating a path to the right part of the investment bank and positioning the opportunity in a way that appealed to the investment bank.

£26m Re-Finance of a Residential and Mixed Use Portfolio

An experienced developer with a substantial portfolio at different stages of development sought to streamline the lending on his suite of mixed use, commercial and residential assets which had varying rates and terms. By segmenting this portfolio and identifying the most appropriate lenders for each part of the portfolio we were able to successfully refinance most of the residential and mixed use assets to market leading rates. We were able to navigate the potential pitfalls of ownership in SPVs, the requirement for Personal Guarantees and stress testing the income and affordability parameters. The client benefitted from saving millions in finance payments and streamlining their lending partners.
